3 Basic Secrets of Success Achievement

Let’s face it! You love and want success. I know you do. You want to be regarded as a champion in your sphere.

Just the way you envy those who’re already champions in their respective spheres, you wish to be envied someday.

This piece treats the three basic needs of success. But before we dive into that, I have a question for you.

What can you achieve without sound health? I belIeve our answers (yours and mine) should incline towards the same direction.

My answer? Absolutely Nothing! What’s yours? Well, that brings us back to the necessities.

Apart from the general reasons why you’ve failed and will always fail. The following are the basics for success achievement. They enhance your well-being which in turn increase your productivity.

Food

Oh, you didn’t see that coming. I know.

But, a normal human body needs nutritional support (food) for energy, life maintenance and growth support.

Little or no work can be done without nutritional support. That’s no news!

But, what are you supposed to eat and why?

According to the Healthy Eating Plate, created by nutrition experts at Harvard School of Public Health, the best eating habit is in the following proportion:

  • Vegetables and fruits – ½ of your plate
  • Whole grains – ¼ of your plate
  • Protein power – ¼ of your plate
  • Healthy plant oils – in moderation and
  • Drink water, coffee, or tea

A good eating habit makes you more productive, innovative and successful.

Do you know guys at Google eat sushi for lunch? Ever wondered why they have been increasingly productive and innovating? Well, a healthy eating habit contributes its own quota.

It increases your physical and mental alertness, increases focus and reduces fatigue.

Also, desist from awaiting hunger to tell you when to eat.Eat timely, never skip breakfast nor lunch nor dinner.

And whenever you have to, try to make up for it.

Sleep

When I was in college, I offered a course – maintenance. It is a general course for all engineering students.

A vital advice for easier machines’ maintenance is to buy more than one (preferably two and above). So you interchange them, could be daily, weekly or monthly depending on the machine in question.

For example, use machine A on day one, machine B on day two and machine C on day three (use one, rest others). What’s my point?

If machines need rest for proper and accurate maintenance, don’t humans need it more? After all, machines spares are less expensive than humans.

Sleep is a vital aspect of human’s life, it rejuvenates and restores the body system. It eliminates exhaustion and gives room for a clearer thinking and better memory. It also eliminates depression and enhances overall body capability.

Now the obvious question, how much sleep do you need?

According to National Sleep Foundation, the quantity of sleep needed per day differs with age as shown below.

  • Newborns (0-3 months): 14-17 hours
  • Infants (4-11 months): 12-15 hours
  • Toddlers (1-2 years): 11-14 hours
  • Preschoolers (3-5): 10-13 hours
  • School-age children (6-13): 9-11 hours
  • Teenagers (14-17): 8-10 hours
  • Younger adults (18-25): 7-9 hours
  • Adults (26-64): 7-9 hours
  • Older adults (65+): 7-8 hours

Depriving yourself of sleep not only reduces your mental alertness but also impairs your memory and cognitive ability.

Exercise

In college, I used to attend Taekwondo classes. It’s a Korean martial art that combines and incorporates the element of Karate and Chinese martial arts

The semesters where I attended more Taekwondo classes tend to be my best performed semesters. Don’t twist it! I didn’t read more, I simply assimilate faster. Yes! I mean much faster!

Not everyone can practice Taekwondo, I know. Nevertheless, what are the best forms of exercise for the body system?
